A man has appeared before a court accused of assaulting three women at a house in Dundalk, Co Louth.

Nicholas Muckian (47) Glenwood, Dundalk is charged with three counts of assault causing harm on Friday, May 3 last at the same location.

He is further charged with unlawfully intimidating another person with a hatchet.

Garda Kate Brady told Dundalk District Court this morning that gardaí were objecting to bail.

No application for bail was made.

In court dressed in a grey jumper, he was remanded in custody until May 15 next in Dundalk District Court.

Judge Eirinn McKiernan meanwhile approved urgent medical attention and assessment being carried out..
